Working at Avondale

Just a few reasons why we think Avondale is a pretty special place to work.

  • There have been testing times for many of us, none less than for the staff and their families and friends struggling to live with the challenges life throws at us. We know that a place of work needs to offer more than just a wage, but also support, meaning and purpose.

    We believe in:

    Competitive pay

    Autonomous working environment

    Leadership team

    Career progression

Community trips – cinema, sports matches, classes, holidays and more.

    Welcoming and inclusive team

    Respect

  • Find a career with us where you can help be the difference you want to see. See how the skills and training you receive help not only those you support but help to develop you personally as well.

Working with us will allow you to experience what good care looks like despite the challenges we all face. We practise an open-door culture as we work with staff of all levels to help and support a natural personal development. Take the time to find out what makes you different and what you have to offer.

All management and senior leadership (the bods at the top in their ivory towers) began their journey with Avondale as care and support staff. We’re super passionate about supporting our team to develop their careers with us.

  • Avondale is a family run business and we are passionate about continuing the values and ethos which our founders Les and Carol created. Looking after one another as if we are all family is what makes us different. We know this has a big part to play in the happiness of our staff and the retention of our best staff.

Our team’s retention rate ranges from 0% to 25% within our community services and teams in 2021.

  • We understand the happiness we have in our work life impacts the overall service we provide. In 2022, we will continue to make changes at Avondale to increase the happiness and enjoyment for our team.

Everyone who works here is responsible to create a fun, loving and happy work environment. We believe this is everyone’s responsibility!

Avondale conducted a simple questionnaire which asked our whole team what three words would best describe Avondale.

We’re committed to uphold these values and ensure our team are provided with and nurtured to be these three things.

“Our team is like a little family, all pulling together to get a job done. If you need help there is always someone there."

Lauren Smith – team member

“If you want to lift yourself up, lift up someone else.”
